Quality Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Directly supervises non-supervisory employees in the Quality Department.
  • Manages all activities related to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems. Leads in the creation of documents needed to support this system.
  • Plans, organizes and manages the work of subordinate staff to ensure continuous control over materials and products and maintaining that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
  • Oversees and delegates responsibilities for both Quality and Fabrication departments in the Engineering Change (ECN) and New Custom Die (NCD) process.
  • Coordinates the development and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and informs what actions have been taken to improve the situation.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team which includes but is not limited to Management Review, Total Quality Index (TQI), etc….
  • Leads resolution of Quality issues and develops relationships with our customer base through mutual respect and communication acting as a facilitator to bring quality issues to closure.
  • Maintains Corrective Action System to track customer and manufacturing production plant quality related issues.
  • Manages and provides assistance with new product launches along with APQP and PPAP activities including the creation of Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA's, Control Plans and First Article submissions.
  • Measurement Systems Development, Analysis and Improvement.
  • Leads Internal Audit Program.
  • Ensures compliance in regards to NAFTA and Reach and RoHs.
  • Completes customer and supplier surveys as required.
  • Leads with the development and implementation of cost saving measures.
  • Provides ISO training for all personnel. Establish and coordinate training programs focusing on Quality for employees.
  • Coordinates / Manages Non-Conforming Material.
  • Promotes safe work activities by practicing good safety habits at all times, attending required company safety meetings and meeting with individual staff members.
  • Follows and complies with mandated ISO procedures at all times and promotes this philosophy within the company.
  • Required travel 25% of the time.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Technical school or equivalent experience. Experience in quality management or similar role. Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing concepts, equipment and procedures.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Certified Internal Auditor.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Familiarity with accounting, database, and Internet software, order processing systems, and Microsoft Office or similar products.
  • Ability to plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
