Maintenance Mechanic

 

This position is responsible for all the truck and trailer repairs for this Department.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Rebuild or repair equipment, trucks and trailers, as required.
  • Make repairs using background knowledge in hydraulics, welding, electrical and metal fabrication.
  • Maintain and repair other equipment such as cranes, forklifts, bob-cats and engines.
  • May be required to maintain or repair other equipment in other buildings thoughout the Company.
  • May modify or change equipment to work for specific functions, as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Follow appropriate ISO procedures at all time.
  • Recognize and comply with affected employee lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment  in the shop or in the field when needed.
  • Wear proper eye and ear protection as required.
  • Practice good safety habits at all times.
  • Responsible for annual DOT inspection of trucks and trailers, placing appropriate sticker in vehicle window and a copy of the sticker in the equipment file.
  • Other functions may be assigned and management retains the discretion to add, delete or change the duties at any time.

Position Requirements:

  • Valid drivers license.
  • Thorough knowledge of truck and trailer repairs.
  • Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and welding experience.
  • Must be able to work independently on projects when assigned.
  • Overtime (OT) as required and flexible to work different schedules.
  • Occasional moderate to heavy lifting up to 100# is required.
  • Own tools helpful.
  • Pushing/pulling, bending/twisting and crouching motions.
